Cardiovascular diseases and problems have become extremely common among young adults and middle-aged people these days. These problems can be easily resolved with small changes to the behavior and the environment as a whole. There are several habits that people are developing due to the environment and these are leading to cardiovascular problems that can cause heart attacks. Cholesterol is a fat-like substance that is typically made by the liver or found in the foods that we eat. The liver is responsible for making the cholesterol that the body needs on average. However, due to the high consumption of unhealthy foods, cholesterol levels in the body increase and lead to a build-up on the walls of the arteries that can lead to a decrease in the blood flow to the vital organs of the body. That is why the presence of high cholesterol levels is often treated as a major cause of heart problems. Some of the leading ways through which you can also judge heart problems are diabetes and obesity. Excess body fat is linked to bad cholesterol and this can cause a major setback. 

  1. Smoking and Drinking

While physical problems within the body can cause heart problems, there are certain lifestyle habits as well that can lead to a possible increase in the number of risks towards cardiovascular issues. Without enough physical activity, a person starts developing body fat which can lead to heart problems. Regular exercise can reduce the risks largely. Apart from this, individuals who drink alcohol too much or engage in smoking can also find themselves at risk of heart problems very fast.

It is recommended that women should not have more than 1 drink a day and men should not intake more than 2 drinks a day. Tobacco usage causes heart attacks and other diseases that can be fatal. Cigarette smoking has a direct impact on the blood vessels and the heart. As tobacco causes an increase in carbon monoxide levels, the body receives less oxygen which leads to a higher risk for heart disease. Furthermore, it is noted that family history also has a large part to play in the risks of heart problems. So, everything should be checked carefully to make sure that you can avert the risks in time.
